Board of Commissioners Resolutions

NEW ORDINANCES/RESOLUTIONS

  • The Board of Commissioners adopted an ordinance establishing rules and regulations requiring the proper control of cats to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of the community. This ordinance is available online at south-fayette-pa.us.

  • The Board of Commissioners adopted an ordinance revising the Township Zoning Ordinance providing for clear regulations on off-premise directional signs, including real estate open house temporary signs. This ordinance is available online at south-fayette-pa.us.

PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS

  • The Parks and Recreation Department completed, through a grant from the Community Development Block Grant Program, the demolition of two structures at the Boys Home Property.

  • The Township Engineering Department completed the 2007 Road Improvement Program that included the completed repaving of Hunting Ridge Trail and Daniel Drive. The overall program cost $392,000.

  • The Board of Commissioners authorized the borrowing of $550,000 from Northwest Savings Bank for the purpose of purchasing property from the Allegheny Housing Authority, formally know as the Morgan Housing Property.

  • The Board of Commissioners authorized the sale of an agricultural Conservation easement on the Boys Home property to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the amount of $1,670,000 or $10,000 per acre. This action will ensure the preservation to the property as open space.

  • The Township has been working with Upper St. Clair Township, Representative Nick Kotik, Senator Pippy and Allegheny County on the possible reuse of the old State Mayview Hospital Property. This group has called for the formation of a special task force to begin review of this issue and its possible impacts on the surrounding communities.

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

The following applications for development have recently been submitted to the Township. All applications for residential and commercial development go through a series of independent reviews and evaluations. The Board of Commissioners is currently considering the following plans:

  • The Board approved the Complete Fitness Center site plan which calls for the conversion of an existing building into a Fitness Center located at 3089 Washington Pike.

  • The Board approved the Allegheny Place site plan which calls for the construction of a 17,000 Sq Ft commercial building along Presto-Sygan Road.

For more information on these pending plans or to learn how to provide input to the Board of Commissioners, contact Township Engineer, David Gardner at 412-221-8700.
