On “Fat Tuesday,” foreign language students at South Fayette Middle School had the opportunity to take part in Mardi Gras and celebrate all the traditions of the various cultures. Whether you call it Karneval (German), Mardi Gras (French) or Carnaval (Spanish), a good time was had by all. The event featured a costume competition, a mask competition, German, French and Hispanic culturally-themed games, a food selection that included crępes, quesadillas and Berliner, a juggler, face painting and the coronation of a king and queen! More than 150 students participated in the fun.
