Township Purchases Land for New Park

On Thursday, January 17, the Township closed on the property of the former Morgan Projects. The fifteen-acre property formerly owned by the Allegheny County Housing Authority is located in Cuddy off Morgan Road. It will take the Township several months to clear the property of any remnants from the old projects, after that it will be open to the public. The Township received a $67,500 grant from the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources towards the purchase.

Name the Park
The Township will be holding a contest to name the new park. The Parks & Recreation Board will select the winner. In the event of multiple people choosing the same name, the Parks & Recreation Board will select the winner.
