Township Looking for Volunteers

Would you like to become part of the team that is helping to shape the future of South Fayette Township? Are you interested in being part of a board, commission, or workgroup? The Board of Commissioners has implemented a program to attract interested resident is serving in any capacity. Simply log on to the Township’s website at south-fayette.pa.us and download the “Volunteer Application.” Fill it out and send it back to the Township either by e-mail or regular mail.The Board will keep the applications and match interested residents with volunteer positions on boards, commissions, taskforces, workgroups and committees.

New ordinances/resolutions
The Board adopted an ordinance amending the Township’s Code of Ordinances Chapter 171 “Nuisances,” to prohibit the overnight parking of tractor-trailer trucks within 500 feet of a residential area.

The Board authorized advertisement of an ordinance vacating a portion of Nicholson Drive.

The Board adopted an ordinance limiting the number of driveway entrances on an Arterial/Collector Road as part of any new major subdivision.

The Board adopted a new policy dealing with laptop computer use.

The Board adopted a new Commercial Signage Overlay District to provide clear regulations for signage within a large commercial or business park.

The Board adopted a policy establishing procedures for the effective collection,management, use and investment of funds collected as part of the Township’s fee-in-lieu program, sale of development rights, donations, park fundraisers and/or private contributions.
